step by step

  • Step 1: Print and Attach the Pattern

Print the provided pattern. Once printed, use spray glue (the easiest way!) to attach the pattern securely to a firm board or piece of cardboard. This will make it easier to cut the fabric accurately.

  • Step 2: Cut the Main Body Pattern

Trace the pattern onto the main fabric using a pencil or tailor chalk. Then, using sharp scissors, carefully cut out the main body pattern from the fabric.

  • Step 3: Fold Along the Folding Line

Fold the cut fabric along the folding line indicated on the pattern. This fold will be the bottom of your stuff sack.

  • Step 4: Sew the Sides

Start sewing along the sides of the fabric (1), leaving the top edges open. Be sure to add the tab as indicated on the pattern.

  • Step 5: Sew the Bottom Sides Together

Sew the bottom sides of the fabric (2) together, creating the closed bottom of the stuff sack. Make sure your stitches are strong and secure.

  • Step 6: Create a Tunnel for the Drawstring

Fold the fabric along the line marked as (3) on the pattern, inside the stuff sack. Then, fold the fabric again along the line marked as (4) on the pattern. This will create a tunnel inside the stuff sack for the drawstring.

  • Step 7: Sew the Tunnel

Sew the tunnel along its edge, leaving a small (approximately 15 mm) gap. This gap is where the drawstring will enter and exit the tunnel. Make sure to secure the ends of the sewing with backstitches to prevent unraveling.

  • Step 8: Attach and Pull the Cord

Use a safety pin to attach it to the end of the cord. Insert the safety pin into the gap in the tunnel and guide it through until it comes out the other side. This will thread the cord through the tunnel.

  • Step 9: Secure with a Stopper

Once the cord is fully pulled through the tunnel, secure it with the stopper. This will allow you to open and close the stuff sack using the drawstring.

  • Step 10: Tie the Ends of the Cord

Tie the ends of the cord together, creating a loop that can be used to carry or hang the stuff sack.

  • AND THAT’S IT!

Your OWN UNIQUE stuffsack is now complete!

  • Step 3: Prepare the Zipper

Cut the zipper to your desired length and attach the zipper ends to both sides of the zipper. This ensures a clean and finished look for your pouch.

  • Step 4: Attach the Zipper Ends

Sew the right sides of the zipper to the left side of the zipper ends. This will secure the zipper ends in place and make it easier to open and close the pouch.

  • Step 5: Sew the zipper to the side

Sew the zipper onto the side (1) on the pattern. Ensure it is securely attached for smooth functionality.

  • Step 6: Position the Zipper

Decide where you'd like the zipper to be: in the center or up on the pouch. Align it as per your preference and sew the right side of the zipper to the left side of the main body fabric.

  • Step 7: Sew the Remaining Sides

Sew the sides marked as (2) and remember to add the tab as indicated on the pattern, to give your pouch a decorative touch.

  • Step 8: Add Zipper Loops

For easier opening and closing, add two loops on the outside when securing the zipper along the sides marked as (2). These loops make it more convenient to access the contents of your pouch.

  • AND THAT’S IT!

Your OWN UNIQUE pouch is now complete!
